How Chase became part of the Police

#HowChasebecamepartofthePolice

Chase had always wanted to be a police officer when he was a kid. He decided that when he was 7 years old. When he turned 22 years old, he traveled from his hometown, San Mateo, to a bigger city where he knew he would enjoy working for the police more.

When he stepped out of the building of the airport, he saw the mayor of Appolo City. He was there to talk to Chase about becoming a police officer. They had talked on zoom three weeks earlier and they had bought tickets to Appolo City together. The mayor had told him what dates to be in the city, and that was the date they had planned: April 27, 2037.

“Hello, Mayor Brock,” Chase said. “Nice to see you in person at last!” Chase walked up to Mayor Brock. “Nice to see you as well,” Mayor Brock said and smiled. “So, are you alright after your flight?”

“I’m fine,” Chase replied.

“Good,” the mayor said. “We need to head over to the police station to talk to the police chief. She needs you to make an application for work. You need to prove that you are up to the job.” Chase nodded in agreement and said, “Ok. How will that work? What will the chief need me to do?”

“Let’s talk along the way,” the mayor said. They got into the car and Chase started driving to the police station. He turned on the sirens. “I was going to answer your question,” Brock said. “You will be doing some roleplay. The chief will pretend that a room is a bank. She will be ‘robbing’ it. As she is getting away, you will try to catch her. You will get into a fight - don’t worry, you won’t be allowed to hurt each other, besides, she doesn’t attack you, she jumps at you pretending to attack but then doesn’t - and you have to put hand coughs on her before she goes into her office.”

“That’s a lot of words, but it makes sense,” Chase said. “That sounds fun.” The mayor nodded. “It is. I did that 30 years ago. I was an officer for 15 years before the mayor before me noticed that I was good at my job, so he made me the mayor of the city.” Chase was surprised and interested, hoping to know more, but he didn’t ask to know more. He didn’t want to get into the mayor’s business, but everyone one the city knew about that day. Still, did it make sense to ask?

When they got to the police station, they went upstairs and knocked on the police chief’s door. When she came out, she looked at them both. She looked familiar to Chase, like someone else on the planet of Sandor. He just couldn’t remember who it was. “Hello Mayor Brock, and Chase. It’s nice to meet you,” she said. “My name is Ally.” The name was familiar too. Chase said, “Nice to meet you as well!”

“You are here for a job, right Chase?” Ally asked.

“Yes I am Chief Ally,” Chase replied. “I have wanted to be a police officer since I was 7 years old.” She nodded then said, “Ok, so let’s get started with your job application. Come with me.” Chase followed her to a room that surprised him a lot. There was a theater in a police station? Wait, it couldn’t be a theater. It was way too small. It had to be a briefing room.

“This is the room that I am going to try to escape from. Do you know what to do Chase, or do you want me to explain it to you?”

No chief, I heard about all of this from the mayor. Where is he anyway?”

“He went back to his office, but don’t worry, you can tell him what happened after you your test.” Ally said.

Ally went into the room. She came out a few minutes later, running. Chase went after her. She knew the police station well because she kept getting away from Chase’s sight. A few times, Chase thought that she had made it to her office again. But wouldn’t he have seen the chief?

At this moment, Chase was trying to find Ally. That’s when he realized where he had seen her. She was a superstar from 2007 to 2022. She had hidden lots of times from the cameras when she wanted to be left alone, camera-free. That’s why she was so good at hiding. He found her hiding in a cell, wearing a prisoner’s suit. That was a good idea because there were many cells full of prisoners. These prisoners didn’t look like they had done anything too bad. They might have been arrested for too many unpaid parking tickets or running too many red lights by accident, maybe not stopping at stop signs when there was no traffic.

“I found you,” Chase said.

“You may have me here, but there is one secret,” she said and then removed the floor. It was… a piece of paper on a trap door?

She walked under the floor. Chase knew that she would have to come out from a vent. That meant over there, to the left! He walked over. Something was coming. Ally! Just as he predicted, she would come out here. He pulled out his hand coughs, and just as she came out, he grabbed her arms and put the hand coughs on her.

“Good job,” Ally said. She smiled and continued speaking. “Here is your uniform and your official police badge. You earned it.” Later that day, there was a party outside the police station.

The citizens of the city were happy to have a new officer.
