When you play Capture the Flag

Once, there were three friends named Keefe, Ally, and Opo Site. They hung out often and had lots of fun together. They were thinking about the time they had played Capture the Flag against each other.

They were in a field as big as the Lazer Tag arena, except it was an open area, and it was more of a triangle shape. When the three of them were ready, were given the signal to start. Ally and Oppo ran toward the center, but Keefe stayed where he was. His strategy was to wait until the other two were worn out before going for their flags.

Oppo and Ally couldn’t go for Keefe’s flag, since he was guarding it, so they went for each other’s. Ally took advantage of the big field and ran to one side. She managed to get past Oppo, but Oppo started chasing her. She got his flag and then started running back to her side.

As she was going, Oppo got tired and that gave her the opportunity to get back to her side.

What Oppo and Ally didn’t know was that Keefe had a plan. They were both tired, and when they stopped running. Keefe went and got both flags that Ally had. When Ally saw that, she told Oppo, and they both went after him.

Keefe ran faster, but when he tried to, he got surrounded. He knew that he was going to get tagged. Wait, but didn’t the rules say that you had to have the flags in your hands to be tagged?

He didn’t have to have them in his hands! He could throw the flags and then jump and grab them. As Oppo and Ally were running toward him, he ran toward his side and as Oppo got near him, he threw the flags up, and when Oppo tagged him, he said, “That doesn’t count! I still have possession of them.” He caught them and successfully brought the flags to his side.

Keefe won the game. “Better luck next time I guess,” Oppo said. “Good game.”

“Good job,” Ally said.

“That was fun,” Keefe said. “We should play again.” The other two agreed about both. “Yea,” said Ally. “I’ll tell you when I can play again, ok?” They all went home.
